From Her to Her with our friends at Socially Gathering

Why This Event Has Become One of our Favourite Community Moments

There’s something magical about a room full of like-minded humans, honesty, and open-hearted conversation. That’s exactly what you’ll find at She Means Business: From Her to Her - a series of intimate and unique events created in collaboration with our friends at Socially Gathering, the leading female networking community in South Africa.

This past week marked Episode 4, and it’s safe to say this gathering has become a firm favourite for us at stub.

So… what is "From HER to HER"?

It’s more than a panel or a networking event. It’s a safe space. A place where women come together to talk about the messy, beautiful, and bold parts of being in business. From building a business, to surviving corporate, to navigating life in between.

This episode explored everything from how to ask a mentor to managing boardroom banter, to managing your finances from the get-go. There were moments of laughter and moments of sheer honesty.

Why are we involved?

Good question. We’re a small, lean, proudly female-led team building simple accounting software for the African continent. But more than that, we believe deeply in the power of community, financial empowerment, and women lifting other women. As Blake Lively so perfectly said, “We need more crown straighteners.” That’s the energy we live for and exactly why we continue to show up for events like this.

We are not just here to build tools. We’re here to back the people who use them. And that means being in the rooms where our entrepreneurs are, listening, learning, and cheering them on.

Because the overlooked deserve to be overachievers.

Our mission is to empower entrepreneurs, especially those from industries, communities, and contexts that have been left out of the traditional business conversation. Socially Gatherings' mission is to be the best female networking platform in South Africa.

Their professional division, ‘She Means Business’, aligns beautifully with that mission. It creates space for underrepresented voices, asks the big questions, and reminds us that we’re not alone on this journey.

What we’re walking away with.

Each event leaves us with new learnings, new connections, and a renewed sense of why we do what we do.

✨ A few reminders from Episode 4:

  • Knowing your subject matter is power.
  • You don’t need to have it all figured out to start. Just start.
  • And yes, you can build a business and be authentically yourself.

We’ll keep showing up. We’ll keep building. And we’ll keep standing beside the people rewriting what entrepreneurship looks like in South Africa.
