How to Connect Takealot to stub
How to connect your Takealot account to stub
If you sell through Takealot and use stub to manage your business finances, this one's for you.
Connecting the two means your orders, refunds, and fees flow into stub automatically - no manual capturing, no missed transactions, no wondering where the money went.
How to connect Takealot to stub
- Get your API key from Takealot. Log in to your Takealot Seller Portal. Go to Settings > API, then copy your API key. If you don't have one yet, click Generate API Key first, then copy it.
- Log in to stub. Head to your dashboard.
- Go to Apps. In the left-hand menu, click Apps.
- Find the Takealot tile. You'll see the Takealot app listed. Click it.
- Paste your API key. Enter the API key you copied from the Takealot Seller Portal and click Connect.
- Set your preferences. Choose your sync start date - how far back you want stub to pull historical orders. Once saved, your Takealot store is linked to stub.
- Click "Sync data". Your Takealot transactions will flow into stub. New orders and refunds will also stream in automatically as they happen, and you can trigger a sync anytime from Income, Expenses, Sales, or Apps > Takealot > Sync data.
What happens after you connect?
Your Takealot data flows into stub and gets categorised automatically. Here's what comes through and where it lives:
- Orders - All the income generated through your Takealot store. Categorised as Sales.
- Refunds - Money paid back to customers. Categorised as Refunds.
- Fees - Your Takealot selling fees and fulfilment charges. Categorised as Payment Processing.
A note on payouts: stub doesn't import Takealot payouts directly. Your bank feed is the source of truth for the cash that actually lands in your account, so we match Takealot's deposits there instead - no double-counting, no reconciliation headaches.
Head over to your Income and Expenses to review your transactions and get a full picture of how your business is really doing.
