Your books don't have to be a one-person job. Bring in your co-founder, your staff or your accountant, each with their own login — no more sharing your password — and stay in control of what they can reach. The model is deliberately simple: two roles, no permission matrix to configure.
Only an owner can manage members.
The two roles
- Owner — Everything: all financial records and settings, bank accounts, team members and billing.
- Editor — Full accounting access — invoices, bills, expenses, reports, the ledger. Cannot edit bank accounts or manage team members.
That is the whole model. There are no per-feature permissions, and no view-only role: anyone you add can edit your books.
Note: If you need to give someone genuinely read-only access — an outside auditor, say — export what they need instead of adding them. Every report exports to PDF or CSV.
Add a member
Go to Settings → Team and click Member. The modal asks for two things — their Full name and Email address — then click Add.
They get an emailed invitation and join as an Editor once they accept. Until then they show as Pending on the list.
Change someone's role
On Settings → Team, click the member, choose Owner or Editor, and Save. A Pending member's role can't be changed yet — they join as an Editor once they accept.
Making someone an owner, or stepping down yourself, has its own wrinkles — see Add or change a business owner.
Remove a member
On Settings → Team, click the member, then the trash button, and confirm. Their access ends immediately. Everything they created stays in your books.
Check your seats
Team members are a premium feature, and paid plans come with a set number of seats. The bottom of the Members list shows how many you are using — Growing Business includes 3, and Established Entrepreneur has no limit.
Adding an accountant or bookkeeper
Add them as a member like anyone else. Editor access covers everything they need — the ledger, the reports, the exports — without letting them change your bank connections.
Tip: Take people off the list when they leave. It is a two-click job that is very easy to forget.
